The Forge Handcrafted Pizza - Oakland

My husband and I ate at The Forge prior to seeing Sheila E. at Yoshi's last night. Daniel was our server. He was such a nice guy. Our salads, drinks and dessert were so tasty! We decided this is our go-to restaurant prior to seeing a Yoshi's show. Great food, service and ambiance. Give it a try!

The pizza, appetizers, and overall atmosphere are enjoyable, but the service leaves much to be desired.

At first, I gave them 4 stars and said the pizza was really good. Since it’s the next day and I’m still thinking about it, I’ve modified my review giving them 5 stars. I found their pizza excellent.

Good thin crust pizza and a great selection of drinks at the bar. Good service and fun atmosphere.

The service was outstanding! The staff was very attentive, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. However, the food didn’t quite meet my expectations. The Brussels sprouts were excessively oily, as if they had been drenched in olive oil after cooking. Additionally, they consisted mostly of charred leaves rather than whole sprouts. As for the St. Louis-style ribs, while the meat was well-cooked, it was overwhelmed by an excessive amount of BBQ sauce, which was not very appealing. I would strongly suggest that they serve the sauce on the side instead.
