Macchu Pichu - Oakville

This well appointed restaurant with the latin flair sits inconveniently in an industrial part of Oakville, well away from the maddening crowds?. Maybe that's better, it was for me..Despite the mixed reviews, I can only relate my positive experiences at this restaurant. I was met by the owner and the lovely Gera who hails from Cuba. She graciously explained the menu and recommended the Ceviches, Empanadas or Lomitos Saltados but I only had eyes for the Anticuchos - grilled beef hearts. They were very good and if my memory serves me, as good as the ones I had at Pardo's Chicken at Larcomar Mall in Lima. Although at $14, a tad pricy but well worth the inconvenience. I even told the owner that now that I had found this place, I no longer had to go to Lima....

Small restaurant, the food is good, pretty much like real peruvian. Some dishes might not be appealing to some Canadian tastes. I recommend the churros at the end of the meal as a desert, those are great.

I really love this place, they serve authentic peruvian food, from chicken to seafood. Their pizco sour is an excellent companion for your order. There is live music on Saturday nights to dance and help you digest your food. Come to this place and thay will serve you with a smile and happiness and you won't be dissatisfied about the food.

Too bad I cannot give this place a negative star. Dirty, absurdly overpriced, horrible food, horrible service. Food is prepared from leftovers and is truly disgusting. Have you ever seen chicken nuggets cooked from slaughterhouse waste? Well, if this does not impress you, try to imagine finding a huge piece of stainless steel dishwashing sponge in your child's meal. Enough said!
