Souvlaki Hut - Oakville

Second time at this place. Still a good place to eat. Service with a smile, portions are adequate<br/ <br/ <br/ 31 Mar, 2015 <br/ <br/ Service was good. Food is good. Place was clean but smelt a little like onions which is expected. I would eat here again. Big portions and server gave me free Greek desert.

I have been eating at this location for years (since the AMC complex went up) and never have I had: an incorrect order, bad service, a long wait, or a problem with prices. Yes Souvlaki Hut can be a little pricey for a meal but you get EVERY penny back in the quality and taste of the food. My personal favourite is the souvlaki gyro (it's served like an over stuffed burrito) and have been back many times to enjoy other items from the menu. For those urbanspoon followers who are open and willing to try new foods and experience a taste of different cultures dine at Souvlaki Hut!

This is one of my favourite lunch locations in this area. It simply serves Greek food and I get the Chicken Souvlaki Dinner which includes a salad, pita, rice, potatoes and tzatzki sauce. Such simple ingredients, yet they taste so good. Decent portion here too for the price and the best part is the included dessert. Basically hardened pita (must be leftovers, which is a good use) soaked in honey and cinnamon. Another simple recipe that tastes really really good. I always leaved stuffed and satisfied.

This restaurant is an original, as this entertainment complex has been opened and unfortunately this is the first time that we have ever eaten. it was great! we ordered tonight and were very happy with the results. the dinners come with a large part. of tasteful rice, a paprika roasted half-kartoffel, a beautiful fresh salad, pita brot (one for each person and six large pieces of meat (called a spit.) the chicken souvlaki dinner was $16.45 and the lamb was $17.95 an additional spits for $6.00 the lamb was perfectly cooked. a bit extra thrown in were their famous honey pita sticks. tasting like churros or beaver tails. they are sweetened with a beautiful end of the meal.

If they asked me a few hours ago, if I would recommend this place, I would have said it absolutely. the food was good and the prices were fair. they have always been looking forward to our questions and I have been here for years, so it sucks that I write this review. I had a very disappointing experience today. I made a pickup job. I didn't call about eats, I didn't skip the dishes. I called the restaurant directly on the phone and placed my order for pickup. when the first server picked up to take my order, they always took it wrong, so it had to be transferred to another server to take the order. that was my first red flag. that has never happened. but the second server read my order perfectly to me again, so I thought everything was good. So why is it when we came home, the pommes and kartoffeln missing from the order? accidents happen, that is completely clear. but when we retrieved, they said they forgot to put it into order, but we were not charged for it. how is it that two chicken sandwich combos with water and small Greek salads, 1 big pig dinner come to $56! I went on the website and it said the chicken sandwich combos were $12,50 each and the big pig dinner was $19.95 kartoffels were $4.95 and pommes were $3.95 how corresponds the $56? (spoiler it does not! and when I argued that the price on the website was not with the price we have owners, they agreed that there would be a discount on the website. the question of the breakdown of prices. she said the big black sauce souvlaki was $24.24, the chicken sluice came, which was a pack, very small salat and a 500ml bottle of water was $16.33 per. each! again what? how did the prices increase so strongly? again no third-party delivery service that would guarantee additional costs. I called the restaurant directly, I went to the restaurant to pick up in my best nitril gloves and I was overloaded and delivered. even eating was not even good today. the hem was hard, and there was hardly feta on the salat. there were many new rentals as they had to close up for covid 19, but until the dinge is back and the regular staff is back, I am done. disappointed and done. bonus: when I told the server that we were done with them, said the server good okbye bonus including screenshots of what the menu on their website says on May 16, 2020. just so you know what I saw.
