Berggasthof Hocheck - Oberaudorf

We had lunch today there and ordered all possible steaks they offer beef and chicken. The quality was not really uauuu, but we enjoyed and found pretty good. The view on the terrace was very nice and the service was also very friendly. Prices...were ok and all in all there was nothing to complain about. I think we can recommend for those planning to go up by the lift to Hocheck or walk for uphill to the restaurant to have lunch or cake there. We have seen many people also taking the car and drive there, but will not recommend as the road is really narrow and people are going down all the time. There is also a nice playground up there and my daughter liked to play there for some I have been in winter and it was also wonderful with the snow and the lights- the winters sledging is great fun. And the place is really perfectly placed at the upper lift station. There are few goats over there so small kids can also play with them and have fun.

We travelled by chairlift in the summer to the mountain top. Just beautiful!! The restaurant is at the top of the chairlift and we stopped for a drink. There is a beautiful restaurant but we we not hungry.

This place is apparently the oldest hut on the mountain around Hahnenkamm area. We were served awful Käsespaetzle, served by a surly waiter and stuck in a boisterously noisy and unpleasant children's room. Lots of guides bring their unruly young charges (children) here because it...is fairly easy to get a table and near the Hahnenkamm chair. We now know why it is easy to get a table. Not recommended.

Catering to elderly clientele. The view is amazing. The staff tries very hard. The taste is just mediocre. Been there. Tried it. Don't need to eat there another time.

Wow, I've been here several times over the past or years with a number of different friends; the last time just a few days ago. When I read the reviews, I began to wonder if it was the same place! Each visit, we've...all enjoyed the food and always had friendly service. General consensus amongst my friends is that the prices are very reasonable given the location and the view from the balcony wonderful.
