We arrived too early to check in, so the receptionist gave us some drink tickets and allowed us to enjoy the amenities. We truly did. We enjoyed some delicious Miami Vice frozen drinks. In the meantime we also enjoyed lunch by the beach. And started planning our weekend itinerary with Nestor the Concierge. I feel like every hotel in the world should have a Nestor! He is the true definition of hospitality. He answered every question and pointed us to the correct areas. Emily in the Front Desk was also a gem to work with. She kept us informed about our room status throughout the day. The club room is also fabulous. We enjoyed wine and snacks before heading out to dinner. I am already planning my next trip to PR. The General Manager should feel very proud having an amazing team like he does.
Came here for a quick 4 days with a girlfriend and we had the best time ever... a little annoying on check in, the woman at the front desk was such a buzz kill and so rude. Our flight did get in very early and we did request an early check in, she was not nice or receptive at all... she said she would call us... finally at like 2pm, we walk back up to the desk and she's like oh hold on let me check and had something ... like, why did you not call us? You're annoying. I've checked in immediately at hotels like la concha and Condado Vanderbilt which are usually my go-to's... Room was pretty basic, nothing amazing... needs to be redone... I thought it was gonna be nicer? Whatever, we were barely in the room, out galavanting all day; drinking in the sun! The bartender at the pool, Pedro, was hilarious and def memorable from our trip... he catered to all of our needs and knew we wanted to have a good time! There is a Ruth Chris in the hotel but who the hell wants that when you can go get some authentic **** from thaaaaa streeeets! Don't get food from the hotel, over priced.. you can hit up market place across the street for breakfast for cheap! And do alambique (they're open for breakfast all the way until night time; empanadas and bartered mahi mahi), Plato's is ok; it's down the block if you want something quick, decent... metropol; down the block, food is good! HiJole; had the chorizo and chicken nachos, they were awesome... lupis; a bar that I def blacked out at Hahahaha; 38 ounce margaritas...los chamos arepas! Hit this place up; they have the best cachapas; thank me later... anyway, good area and it's safe over here .. good for family trip or just a quick girls/lover getaway!
For entertainment, this place is a bit cramped, with minimal seating and low ceilings. Though, the band we saw on Saturday night was pretty good. We ordered drinks, the prices were pretty high--about 20% higher than the much nicer San Juan hotel next door. That was shocking. The bar has an outside with fire pits, so it's a good look.
Fantastic place for special occasions. Great surroundings. Very convenient. Best con siege services. Pool and hot tub open 24/7
I planned a weekend get away for my best friends bachelorette. Overall the trip was wonderful due to the activities we did but I have stayed at numerous other InterContinental's before and by far this is the worst intercontinental I have stayed at. I booked the rooms based on the pictures on Priceline and their website. Which was very misleading. The picture of the bathroom definitely not what I got. The picture online shows an updated beautiful bathroom which what we got (for 4girls to share) was a small outdated bathroom that didn't look that clean and can't fit two people standing in there. I called front desk to inquire about it and they told me I was mistaken and all their bathrooms are like that. On top of that it looked like it wasn't very clean, the water doesn't drain in the sink and ends up pooling in the sink. I stood there for a few min pulling and pushing the drain to see if it was pulled up but it wasn't. My friend said she feels like she's going to catch something in the shower Bc it looked dirty and moldy. Here's the kicker... the first night house keeping didn't even bother cleaning our room. Second night they took half the towels away and only emptied out one trash can but left the other full trash can in the room and they did not replen our toiletries. So to make it clear we wanted them to take the towels we put all the ones we want them to take on the floor by the door and put the trash cans by the door area too. When we requested 4 sets of towels they sent us two bath towels for 4 girls. So I had to re-request the towels. Third night house cleaning took all the towels and trash but did not give us any new towels again or toiletries. So I had to call housekeeping again to let them know we didn't get any towels. I requested toiletries and had to tell them we didn't get any and we don't have enough for 4 girls to shower. I felt like I had to do their jobs for them. On top of that the bathroom didn't looked like it was cleaned throughout our stay. That put a damper on our weekend. The funny thing is u need to have your room key to get towels out of the towel storage, and there was a sign that said they will charge you $20 per towel if you don't return it by End of day. How were they going to track if you returned the towels each day or not. I asked the staff and they said only if they find it in your room will you be charged. The pro about the hotel- front door staff was very friendly and awesome, restaurant waitress was great! The grounds are beautiful but the bathrooms definitely need updating and housekeeping needs to do their job.
