The New Orleans Saints game was about to start and the place was filling up with Saints fans. A big banner over the bar declares it “Saints Country.” We sat for about 5 minutes before the server approached our table. We ordered our drinks (Pepsi and Waters)and the Catfish strips as an appetizer. It took another 10 minutes before our server returned with our drinks and take our order. I went with the hotlinks and a mac n cheese. My wife ordered the pulled pork, mac n cheese and the beans. The catfish strips were excellent. Our meals arrived. The food was ok… but not great. There was absolutely no “hot” in the hotlinks and the flavors were benign. The Mac n cheese tasted like the pre made mac n cheese you get at Dickies Barbecue restaurant chain. The beans were a little undercooked. So they were a little tough. The portions were nice, a little on the larger side. Through our entire meal, the server didn’t return to fill our water or soft drinks. It wasn’t a bad experience… just not a great one. We probably will not repeat. Food B Service C
Miss Kim's was a definite disappointment. Everything lacked seasonings expected from a southern establishment. The lemonade was watered down, however the creamsicle was delicious. Don't expect sliced brisket, they serve it chopped and there was barely any flavor. Expected so much more. 10/10 would not recommend.
I got hairy chicken wings. I thought it was a nice dive bar but didn't expect the food to be so gross , guess you get what you pay for.
The quality of the food has definitely gone down. This used to be my go to for bbq because it's down the street from where I live. I had gotten the pulled pork plate and it was dry and over cooked. The corn bread was burnt to a crisp and barely edible for the most part. Their baked beans and collard greens are delicious hence the 2 star rating. Overall disappointed from the quality they started at to where they're at now.
Solid 4 stars. Get the chicken thighs meal. Worth every penny! Get the ribs! Delicious! They are confident in their rub and cooking (as they should be) and the sauce is served in the side. I think the sauces are wonderful but the meat is so tasty without it. Skip the cornbread. It used to be thick, moist and even craveable and the last 2 times we have been, it's thin, dry and over browned.... ...More like a plate filler rather than a side that compliments a good southern meal. That is honestly the only thing I would change about this place. Everything else is fabulous! Customer service is wonderful even fellow patrons are in a good mood and you can tell everybody loves the food here!
