There are good bourgeois food, even something else, for example Hacke Dotz . the cream Brulee for Dessert was my highlight. A super-nette and attentive operation with sense of humor has rounded off the whole thing.
We have been on this restaurant and hotel first time in 1986 and are happy to come back. It is possible to buy wines from the house wine bar before you go to the table, and the older wineries were sweet to open to us outside the opening time, so we could be allowed to taste and buy wine. Fast and careful operation. The food is typical German, and there were many local guests in the restaurant.
We were with a larger group of therefore a reservation was indispensable anyway. The orders were received quickly and the waiting period was also appropriate. The Dragon Speer is recommended as a specialty of the house. But be careful: Whoever commands him must really be hungry.
Schönleber is one of the first addresses in Oestrich-Winkel. Therefore, you should definitely book because after opening, all places are quickly occupied. This also applies and especially for an evening when one of the really good jazz bands takes place in the Jazz Week every year in July! In addition to this special event, Schönleber always presents itself as a popular Rheingauer restaurant with delicious dishes at high prices. We often had luck without regain, because the Rhine countries are already at the table and then the discussions with a glass of wine are always funny.
We were there with 8 people for dinner. Cosy and grounded. All foods would be very good in quality and quantity at moderate prices. The food was served quite quickly despite the full restaurant. Very good selection of own wines and wines from other winemakers from the region. We like to come back.
