Nikanos Mediterranean Grille - Ogunquit

For our main courses, I ordered the braised lamb shank while my partner had the catch of the day, branzino. Both dishes were fantastic and packed with flavor. The service was excellent; our waiter, Christian, was juggling his duties as a bartender but managed everything wonderfully. The owners, Mark and Jennifer, were very present and friendly, checking on us frequently despite the restaurant being busy. We were thrilled with our experience at Nikanos and will definitely be back. It was heartening to see the restaurant thriving, especially during the challenges posed by COVID-19. We wish them continued success. If you visit, you’re sure to return, just as we plan to. As of today, August 22nd, I've already been back three times, and each visit has been better than the last. Mark and Jennifer truly take pride in their vibrant establishment, and I commend them and their entire staff for their dedication to making it successful. During my most recent visit on July 30th, 2021, I was warmly greeted by Jennifer and Mark. The service staff, along with the executive chef, continued to showcase their expertise in customer care. Every meal was superb and truly satisfying. Whatever you choose to order, you won't be disappointed. The mussels, lamb shank, and chicken dishes are simply divine, not to mention the desserts. Come to Nikanos for a fulfilling dining experience, where you’ll be impressed by the service and food, making you want to return again and again. They also feature nightly entertainment. P.S. With most restaurants in the area closed for the season, my wife and I stumbled upon this gem. What a delightful surprise! Every dish we tried was delicious and full of flavor. We started with the soup of the day, along with a mezze platter of hummus, tzatziki, and bean paste, and shared the stuffed grape leaves. For our main courses, we had the Mediterranean salad and the spiced lamb flatbread, both of which were fantastic.

I don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience! My husband, our 8-month-old son, and I had lunch there, and everything was fantastic. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. It was a sunny yet cool day, so we opted to sit outside with a heater nearby, accompanied by some lovely live music. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and provided safe recommendations for my dairy and soy allergies, even checking with the kitchen to ensure the food was prepared correctly. The food itself was delicious! We will definitely be returning!

It was ok. The ?steak bomb? was just average sandwich. Drinks were ok, (lemonade was way ti sweet). Service was also just ok.

My wife and I essentially had a feast here. We started with the avgolemono, which was lighter than I'm used to with a great flavor from the chicken. We then tried the spinach pie, which isn't for everyone, but is one of my favorites and it too was fantastic. Our entrees were the lemon chicken and the lamb shank. Both of these were delicious and the portions were large. Lastly, we had some custard pie for dessert, which was a perfect ending to a great meal. It was fresh out of the oven with a hint of orange from the infused simple syrup they use to cover the pie. Absolutely delicious.
