The Okemah Barn

Stayed here for breakfast on the way to Colorado and was pleasantly surprised. I don't want to say that this looked like the bad part of the city, but it definitely looked like the part of the city where people pay attention to what they say, because here you could be punched in the mouth when you say something from the line, but the place was clean, the people were polite, friendly, working class people, the staff was helpful and polite, and the food was good. traditional, continental breakfast food, given in large portions, at a price I could not believe! You must not have raised menu prices since the 1990s! It was so cheap. I doubt I'm ever back in this area, but if I know where I have breakfast.

All right. Came for an appointment to Okemah. Did my family get out and eat a heavenly meal. I have the Indian taco. Bread was thick and fluffy, beans were fresh and meat was grilled. I just had it the way they served it. Almost as good as my mother's recipe! We have desserts to go because we were full. Fried cake!!! I got the strawberry cream and it was good cold. My Sis made a cherry cheese cake home. It had bags of real cream cheese, which was lovely. The restaurant was spacious and bright. Workers were nice. Looks like they get a lot of replay business, which is a great sign. My family loved eating.

This is a large small diner, with a good selection of homemade dishes. The owner is usually there and he is usually ready for a chit chat. I've eaten here four times while I'm out of town for business, and when I'm back in the area, I'll eat here again.

PLEASE ADD WEEKDAY SPECIALS on the online menu or an image of the daily special plan?! I've been regular for 14 years, but I still can't forget which days certain lunch specialties are set. Ali's Place II (2) or Ali's restaurant was formerly in Wetumka Oklahoma, but retreated 27 miles away to Okemah Oklahoma awhile, but is now directly from I-40 in Okemah Oklahoma!! One cannot miss space for a wonderful house cooked meal during the trip to I-40! You have ALWAYS the absolute BEST homemade country cooking whether there is breakfast or lunch you are looking for! If you order your always fresh hot food, CALL 20-30 minutes before it WILL packed and ready! Only differences are that the newer location in Okemah Oklahoma is a newer facility, considerably larger more seats available! SSOO HAPPY it is still open and was always a hit!

Love there all you can eat fish on Friday night, real clean place and the service is outstanding also.
