I get the feeling that many foreigners leave after realizing it's a vegan restaurant. I've seen some negative reviews here, but we were genuinely satisfied with our meals. If you're looking for vegan comfort food, this may not be the place for you. They don't even use sugar in their dishes. The flavors may not be what you're used to, but we still enjoyed our food. We tried the Onigiri (rice balls), house curry with rice, curry vegetables on noodles, omelette-like dish, and spaghetti marinara. Everything was packed with fresh vegetables and flavorful. One of my sons gave it five stars, while the other gave it four because the Onigiri wasn't up to his standards. The atmosphere was unique, with movie posters covering every surface and film soundtrack playing in the background. It was a pleasant experience. The restaurant itself was surprisingly spacious – not what we expected in Japan. Just a heads up, the map coordinates are a bit off. This restaurant is actually located ON Malibu Beach, so make sure to find your way there.
Despite what Happy Cow lists, this restaurant is fully vegetarian, with all food being vegan. I would have given this place a 5-star review, but non-veg restaurants are not allowed. Not only is the food here delicious and affordable, but it also doubles as a retro movie poster museum. There are hundreds of old movie posters, and it's a unique experience to see them in Japanese. The view of the oceanfront was stunning, and the food was both healthy and tasty. They offer an English menu and the staff were very friendly to us. I highly recommend this place.
This restaurant is absolutely amazing! They cook all their dishes vegan, gluten-free, oil-free, and sugar-free. Despite being healthy, the food was incredibly delicious. We tried the #2 set, which included Curry udon, okonomiyaki, and fried onigiri, and it was all so tasty. We finished off the meal with Dessert, which was not as sweet as we are used to with cakes, but still very enjoyable. I would definitely go back to eat here again!
As far as I can say, this restaurant is fully vegan. The woman before us asked us if we were fine with a menu of this type. She has an empty yes. I have the impression that many Gaijin leave after the discovery it is vegan. I see some bad reviews here, but honestly we were very happy with our meals. Well, if you are looking for vegan junk food, this is not the place for you. They do not even use sugar in their recipes. As such, it could not be the flavors you are used, but we still found our food delicious. Together we had both aromas of Onigiri (rubber portions), the house curry and rice, some curry veg on noodles, an omelet-like thing, and spaghetti marinara. Everything had worked a lot of fresh veg and was tasteful. One of my sons said five stars, the other said four because the Onigiri left him something to wish. The atmosphere is interesting. There were film posters on every surface. Film instrumental theme music played in the background over a continuous ocean wave track. It was pleasant. The place itself was spacious – not what we are used to in Japan. Finally, the map coordinates are a bit out. This restaurant is actually ON Malibu Beach, so navigate to it.
Beautiful sea view, 100% vegan, oil-free, sugar-free cook! Brown rice! Yay. Healthy vegan not a Junk Food Vegan restaurant). This place is a secret... Your choice if you want to keep it that way. The history of the owners is interesting. 35-year-old restaurant, vegan for 12 years. The owner turned vegan after eating bad meat diet. The owner took so much care of the health that he no longer serves meat and pet food. Wow! The place used to be a famous steak and lobster house 12 years- 35 years ago. Filled with Americans and tourists, now a quiet vegan restaurant. Nice! Updated by previous review on 2021-12-20
