Gorō Ramen + Izakaya - Oklahoma City

Excellent service, nice environment, great beer! Food, neh...oily, fatty and bland. The pork belly was exceptionally fatty and the menu really offers only a choice of ck broth, vegan, or chicken broth with oily chili sauce that is more oily than spicy.

10 on a scale of 5. The sautéed shiitakes alone are worth the trip. Weekly eating level of good. We tried 3 different dishes. All were extraordinary.

Outstanding in all regards. Cocktails are great (I'm partial to the Dragon, basically a tart Shandy). Shiitake mushroom and cauliflower appetizers are special. Spicy miso ramen is very flavorful and has a definite kick without being overwhelming (but get a different ramen if you don't like spice). Service is quick, friendly, and helpful. I've eaten here 3 times and I always leave full and happy. BTW, I don't understand rating a place low because you have to wait for a table--you have to wait because it's good. And there are plenty of tables at 5:00.

So impressed with the great service and the amazing ramen. We sat at the bar since there wasn't a wait. The sake selection is better than I have found anywhere so far. There isn't a huge menu which is nice when you are super hungry and can't handle the decision of only getting one thing (me). We ordered a pork belly bun as appetizer since it came with two---amazing. I am usually skeptical of getting pork-belly bc most places that serve it have a huge amount of fat. Not this one. It was perfect. I even got to watch them blow torch it before bringing it out. Then for the main entree I had the spicy miso as a recommendation from the bartender. It has just the amount of spice needed and these wonderful meatballs. Since I was super hungry I decided to add pork belly to it as well. So if you are in the plaza area stop in. So pleased to know there is another great spot to eat while hanging out. Definitely the best Ramen house it OKC.

Great place for Ramen. The meatballs and pork belly were amazing, and cool watching the chef cook them with a torch. Service at the bar was top notch also.
