Fried wontons are a perfect appetizer and they are huge! Found me a Southside restaurant that I will frequently visit. The seafood boils are loaded with the protein of your choice whether it be crawfish, jumbo shrimp, or Cajun sausage. There's catfish and and Po'Boys as big as Popeyes's forearms. Good eats!
I am pleased to give this joint a 5/5 rating for bringing the authentic, Louisiana cajun crawfish boil to Oklahoma City. Initially went to the south side looking for a new gentlemen's club since I swore off Red Dog. Little did I know, I was in for a different kind of tail!!! Saw the sign on I-240 and exited Penn (FYI it's a quick turn once you exit, so be alert). Anyways, walked in and found it to be a real nice place. Young man at the front welcomed me and started working on my table, covering it with a bunch of butcher paper. Really felt in my element, so I ordered 5 lbs of the Spicy Maria boil and cajun fries. Crawfish came out in a big bucket which I dumped on the table. Really went to town. Was about ten bugs in, sucking the head on this real giant sombitch when it hit me... Spicy Maria was hotter than hell. I was hurtin bad, but decided to power through— it was a good hurt. Waitress said my lips and face were dark red, but I told her it was nothin. Used the fries to transfer globs of ketchup on to my tongue (swish and repeat). Really dug deep during the last pound, but made it through the whole bucket. A lot like finishing with your best gal when you've had a little too much rye. Sweet victory! Had a nice calm moment for about 5 minutes afterwards, and then the burn was worse than ever. Waitress mockingly asked if it was spicy enough for me, but she could already tell by my abused, red face that it was. Paid the check, thanked all the folks, and told them I would be back for Round 2 soon. Little advice from Rob: Do NOT go inside the pants to itch yourself on the way home.

This place was very busy for a Wednesday night. Always a good sign in my book and I wasn't disappointed. Great food! We had the crab wonton that were huge and delicious. It came with a sweet and sour sauce that was like nothing I've ever had. I think it was an applesauce base. So good! Sweet potato fries that seemed fries that seemed to be fresh made. Yum! We really wanted to try one of the boils, that everyone in the place was eating, but we were pressed for time. My husband and I both got po' boys. I had the fried oyster and he had the spicy sausage. They came out on were about 12 inches long. My oysters were huge! They placed three extras on the side of my plate. They were piping hot. It was very good. My husband raved about his sandwich too. We had our son with us and he got an ala carte grilled cheese and a bowl of rice. The grilled cheese was smashed flat in a panini press that actually made it easier for him to eat (he's 3). I think it's meant to be paired with the gumbo so it's not extra cheesy. We really want to go back to try a boil. They came out in steamer bags that looked packed with corn and potatoes. They offered crab, king crab, sausage, shrimp and crawfish and three or four different seasoning choices. Many of the patrons were offered gloves and bibs to help them eat more cleanly. They have about 8-10 choices of beer and there were TV'S all around with sports on. It would be a great place to catch a game while you make your way through a mound of seafood. The service was a touch slow but they were pretty busy. They were all also very friendly. We will be back.
