We usually love this place and the food remains consistently goodHowever, the service was not as good as it usually is.
I ordered the Huevos Ranchero and didn't pay attention that it came on a tortilla instead of being an actual burger.
The food was awesome and the service was even better. I think I've found my favorite burger place! The jalapeño and onion covered fries were great. I will definitely be back!
I have now been to locations of The Garage. I am pleased with how well they are able to deliver consistently good food and service. This time I tried the fried onion burger. The menu description calls it the real deal Being an onion burger fan, I wondered how good it really is. The short answer is: They got it right!I ordered the fried onion burger with pickles, lettuce, and tomatoes on a wheat bun. It is also supposed to come with American cheese and mustard. I don't care for American cheese, so I asked for it to be left off my burger. I like mustard, but I never know if they are going to put more on the burger than I want to have, so I added my own mustard after the burger came to the table. I like The Garage because unlike some other burger joints, they offer a wheat bun. I would rather have the earthy flavor of a wheat bun instead of the blandness of a white bun for my burgers. My current favorite onion burger is from Tucker's Onion Burger. What I like about that burger is the intense onion flavor that you get while eating the burger and for a few hours afterwards. The Garage's fried onion burger had those same qualities. Throw in the fact that you can order it on a wheat bun here, and I may have found my new favorite onion burger. I want to try it again before I make up my mind completely, though. This location is probably the most difficult in terms of parking. We ate out on a Friday night, though, so we expected to have some difficulty in finding parking. My wife and I were not able to park in the lot north of the restaurant. We found a spot in the lot to the west (entrance on Harvey Avenue). It has a good view of the new Maples BBQ to the west and Bleu Garten to the southwest.Even if you don't have to use the restroom, you may want to go check it out. The large wall paintings of Roger Rabbit and Jessica Rabbit by the men's and women's restrooms are great.
