The pillows felt like they were filled with hay, and the mattress was uncomfortable. The bathroom was another issue. The exhaust fan was excessively loud and activated whenever the light was turned on, making it difficult for the other person to sleep when one of us needed to use the bathroom at night. We also noticed mold at the base of the tub, and the shower curtain was nearly falling off its rod. Additionally, the showerhead was positioned so low that it was challenging to shower without bending down uncomfortably. The tub itself had pits, chips, and other signs of wear and tear. For breakfast, the hot bar was frustrating to navigate as the lids wouldn’t stay open, making it difficult to serve ourselves while holding our plates. If you tried to prop a lid open, it would inevitably slam shut. We have traveled and stayed at Holiday Inn Express locations across the U.S. for both business and leisure, but we have never encountered such a poor experience. On our way out, we brought these issues to the attention of the manager and asked if the rooms are ever inspected, but based on our stay, it seemed they were not. We posted this review on the IHG website and have yet to receive any follow-up from them.
I stayed for just two days. The room and the entire building were clean. The indoor pool was very inviting. However, the ice maker on the first floor was out of order, but the one on the third floor was functioning. The hallway and lobby were quite warm because the air conditioning wasn't working. Breakfast was enjoyable, although the dining area was also warm. The orange juice was excellent on the first day, but the dispenser was broken on the second day. There seemed to be quite a few maintenance issues to address. On a positive note, the location was fantastic, with a wide variety of restaurants within walking distance.
My room was acceptable, though it had that musty smell often associated with old carpets, which was a bit disappointing. There wasn’t much space to place my belongings, unlike in newer Holiday Inn Express hotels. The lighting was also inadequate, with only three lamps available aside from the entry light. Additionally, the bathroom light is connected to a loud fan, making it quite disruptive at night—if I had a guest, it would've been difficult for them to use the bathroom without waking up the whole place. On a positive note, the lobby and pool area are beautiful and welcoming. I likely would’ve given a higher rating if the hot tub had been operational, as that was a major letdown. The surrounding area is bustling but felt safe, and I was comfortable sitting outside both during the day and at night. The breakfast offered here was more diverse than at other Express locations I've visited. Overall, I would consider staying again if the hot tub is fixed. However, they definitely need to address the smell and the carpets, as improving these aspects would enhance the overall experience significantly.
Rooms are nice apart from a few small maintenance issues. Service is good apart from 2 ladies working the weekend breakfast who wouldn't keep things stocked or take out the trash. Housekeeping is amazing. The pool is nice. Breakfast is good. Parking lot is safe.Rooms: 4/5
Not friendly staff, unhelpful when it came to a few different situations that arouse in the few days I stayed. While it was booked out and no rooms were left available I am certain my room was a disaster. Stained carpets, popcorn ceiling falling off and maintenance items in disarray. I cut my thumb on the shower and not even as much as a bandaid offered..
