Syriana Cafe - Old Ellicott City

The food here is delicious, and the atmosphere is even better. We ate on the outdoors second floor porch and had a great view of the old town. My only complaint is that the non alcoholic drinks are overpriced and not outstanding but overall, a wonderful experience. The Syrian desserts are highly recommended.

I was discriminated against today when trying to be seated and dine at this restaurant. I love this restaurant and I have introduced many friends and family to it as well. As a family, we love food from all cultures and one of our favorites is Middle Eastern cuisine. My son loves Syriana, but after today’s experience, we will not be returning. I had made a reservation on OpenTable for outside balcony seating. When we arrived, I was informed that the balcony area was reserved for reservations. I had specifically reserved a table for the second floor balcony, which is where they continually refused access for us. I saw multiple people, from their culture be led onto the balcony. I inquired and was told that I wasn’t allowed to have an outside table as I had reserved because I made the reservation at 6:09 when the reservation was for 6:15 and therefore no tables were available. The staff continued to treat us rudely when we asked to move outside. I don’t like saying this but our party was discriminated against due to our culture. I’m disgusted by the behavior of the staff and will not be back! Did I mention I speak Arabic and heard everything you said about us!!!

Food was normal but the location and ambience is beautiful.

Disappointing experience. Picked up 3 main courses, 2 appetizers, and 2 deserts. Order was not ready on time. Lamb chops were dry. Shawarma was not flavourful. Deserts did not make it into the bag and we only discover when we got home
