Far Western Tavern - Old Orcutt

Great dining experience... went with two friends... we were totally satisfied with the experience... the concencus was... we can 't wait to go back!

We visited the Far Western Tavern on a Saturday evening in April. The place was bustling with diners. The ambience was nice old time western look. We started out with cocktails the special Manhattan and an old fashioned. Both were delicious. My husband and I shared the surf turf, steak and lobster dish, which included a shrimp cocktail appetizer and salad. Everything was more than enough to share. The steak and lobster were cooked perfectly. The lobster was melt in your mouth. The steak was tender and juicy. The only downside was the wait for the main dish, which took a while, but was well worth it. Service was very good in general. All servers seemed to work as a team. We'd definitely come back here again.

We brought friends here for first time after golfing in Santa Maria we all enjoyed service food atmosphere libations. We sat in cozy 1/2 booth in bar; but will try cozier dining room next time! Wonderful evening. Reserving on open table was difficult as we tried to make comments to reserve specific type of table; it kept trying to have me change the reservation time to an hour later; so I had to call several times to reschedule a live person to put in this request-not happy about that.

Found this cute excentric western restaurant on yelp. Very pleased with our choice. We were in Santa Maria wine tasting and wanted a good steak dinner and found a great little gem. Food was very good, well seasoned and flavor spot on. I gave it 4 stars only because the service could have been a little More attention to refilling water or offering another cocktail. But overall would come back.

As usual nice time, I requested a booth and this time I got one. Food excellent as usual, love their house Old Fashions, made perfectly. Our steaks are always cooked just the way we like. We usually have leftovers.
