A smallish restaurant near the old church in Olden. We went for coffee and cake after a ride on the open top bus. The coffee served is the well known Illy brand. Delicious coffee together with a slice of blueberry flan. The queue was long but moved fairly quickly. Tables inside and out. The cafe serves alcohol and meals too. We’ll worth a stop
With a relatively medium pricepoint, by Norwegian standards, the food was also expected to be mediocre. This turned out to be accurate as the only tool apparently valiable in the kitchen is a pair of siccors and sesoning is something that happens when the forest change color. The food is boring, bland and factory produced, but not inedible. The staff is fluent in english, but that is not always the case for the clientelle. With the spacious patio and all things considered this appears to be a joint directed at foreign campers and cruise ship tourists that will never be seen again. If you like to eat where the locals eat this is not it.
Nice place to stop by the fjord and local shops for refreshments. One local beer on draft and a good range of other beverages. Outside seating area was a bit over crowded with seating crammed in. Pleasant hard working staff
A winter trip to Norway meant icy roads and not much to do except ski...so we ended up at an empty cafe and the lady was surprised to see tourists! Turns out she is Danish and kinda hated Norway. Funny
