I would recommend ola peixe to anyone who visits olhäo. the monk or the psychic is a certain choice when we return. dave. lee, ian mark
After we have read some of the cripples here, we have taken them to risk, it has actually turned out very well. one that we were not too enthusiastic was the personal that smoked on the street while we tried to welcome the customers in the meantime. we were welcomed, the menu shown and taken by them before we committed ourselves after we decided we were sitting out quickly. service was excellent, we have found that brot and oliven are automatically almost welcomed; but they cost in average it is not free; this is the same format everywhere, but not just here. the menu is mainly fish local that is good, but for someone who doesn't like fish, there was also sirloin steak and grilled chicken on the menu all served with salat and chips. some of our group chose the fish and said it was excellent, it was certainly well presented and my grilled chicken was also very good quality. while we were sitting, we talked to the owner who said he could not let the Portuguese eat in his restaurant because he was not a native who is from birth to indian; this is a great scandal when we had really excellent food. we sat outside on the main strip and this made for a decent atmosphere under the shadow of a umbrella with a cool brise that was good as it was so hot. I had a poke in the restaurant and it was very big if a little ground, nothing wrong with it at all. the toilets were also basic, but functional. we had a nice experience here so much that some of us returned this evening for another meal; again eating was very good. based on this experience and our second on this evening I would like to eat here again, it is more on the ground side, but eating was nice. I would especially recommend their homemade cheesecake, it is not like a cheesecake they would normally think if, easier in the texture, but absolutely beautiful with wild berries on the top.
Two of us went here at our first night and had a beautiful sea bass and sea bass with salat. we tried two other places, but went back again and had another nice meal of grilled salmon. could not blame the friendly staff.
We were all quite hungry and two of the party stopped and said lets go in here'. I did not really fancy it as there were staff on the front trying to drag you in. We ordered the chicken with chips and salad. The food...smelled very nice when it was brought out but part of the deal was a glass of wine or a small beer. One of our party requested a large beer thinking that he would pay the difference. However when we received the bill they charged the full amount for the large beer. We did question this and they redid the bill. The worst part for myself, however, was that my chicken was quite raw near the bone so I left quite a lot of it as I didn't want to risk being ill. I pointed this out to the waitress and she said she would inform the cook. Nothing at all was done about this no apology nothing!
