Challwa Wasi - Ollantaytambo

Really delicious trout! The best I've had in Peru so far! In a beautiful location. The money raised with the fish-farm goes to maintaining the local health clinic that was set up by the NGO Corazones para Peru. The only downside is that the restaurant is only open within certain time slots. Doing research in the area, I've been in Huilloc quite a few times. I think the restaurant was only open half of the time I was there.

This is a fantastic location! The restaurant is connected to a fish farm and you can actually watch them catch the fish you're going to eat. Food is great and the prices are more than justified!

Das Restaurant liegt in der traumhaften Kulisse des sehr traditionellen und schönen Huilloc's (3500m). Es ist direkt an einer Fischzucht angebunden. Die Portionen sind groß und die Einnahmen gehen an eine deutsch-peruanische Hilfsorganisation. Auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert.

It's a nice restaurant. Basically because it is located in the beautiful community of Huilloc. Although the villagers offer typical food which you must request that you can prepare, Challwa wasi is a great option when you want to enjoy the rich trout in a comfortable and cozy atmosphere.
