The staff was outstanding and helpful during our entire stay, huge kudos to them! The pool was a nice size, albeit cold (we still swam, anyway! , and though the hot tub was broken, we didn't mind (though after a cold swim it would've been nice . Didn't try the breakfast since the Farmer's Market was so close by. Harbor Days was also fun, but might have been nice to know it was happening, as it was a little chaotic when we arrived at the hotel for check in. All in all, a solid 3.5 star property. Would stay again when visiting Olympia in future as the location is right in the heart of downtown!Nearby activities: Harbor Days the hotel was right in the middle of it. Nearby restaurants, the Farmer's Market, etc. was super helpful, too.Walkability: Right downtown, and close to ALL the things! (we were there during Harbor Days, so that was an unexpected bonus
I left my headphones there and didn't realize until I was three hours away. I called them the next day and asked if they could ship to my house to the east coast. They said yes and we exchanged information.About two weeks later, they called me again to confirm some information to send the headphones. I just got them in the mail with the shipping receipt.I truly appreciate the front desk and cleaning staff. Thank you!
I don't need much in a hotel... Just a bed and shower. Still, I've come to expect a better class from DoubleTree. I've stayed in some nice DoubleTree properties...This isn't one of them. It's not bad. It just doesn't live up to the DoubleTree name. It's more of a Quality Inn... The room furnishing are really basic. Lots of beige pressed board furniture. The bathrooms were small with cheap vanities. Nothing with character. The pool and hot tub were broken (which we knew ahead of time)... Still, the price was really expensive for what you got. Location was great and the staff was very nice. Especially at the front desk and in the bar area... This place isn't horrible. Just nothing special like you'd expect.
When I walked in the room and realized it was not close to what I expected for a space that could accommodate 4 adults and a child as advertised, the last thing I was expecting was leaving a 5-star review. However, Justin at the front desk was very empathetic and did everything within his authority to made sure we felt taken care of.It didn't change the fact that I had to shell out for a last second room at another hotel for my parents, but how Justin handled the situation was a masterclass of how to turn an upsetting situation into one that somehow strengthens the customer's loyalty to the Hilton brand.
This hotel is rough. It is very dated and is honestly pretty close to being unsafe to stay in. The structure is deteriorating. Walls show signs of cracking and buckling. Our King Suite was just a large room with lightly placed (worn out) furniture. On of our walls had obvious signs of water damage (wall paper curling) and it smelled very strongly of mold. The breakfast buffet was not redeeming at all. It consisted of a waffle maker, yogurt, some cheap premade omelettes, sausage patty (tasted like old grease), French toast sticks, and cereal. There was juice, tea, and coffee (labeled as seattles best but they had a Starbucks sign mounted to the wall which means it’s probably Sysco branded). What a disappointment for a doubletree. This should be rebranded to a red roof inn.
