The place is consistently spotless, and I enjoy watching the animals nearby. The only downside is that every time my food arrives, it's so unbelievably hot that I either have to endure the wait for it to cool down or risk burning my mouth by digging in right away (but it's definitely worth it!).
The Alpine Inn has the absolute best Chicken in the Region. This landmark establishment has been in the same family for half a century. Their food has never changed in taste. Outstanding! Definitely recommend Alpine Inn!
First things first: they only accept cash, so make sure to bring some with you. If you happen to forget, don’t worry—there’s an ATM on-site. Now, onto the meal: it was absolutely delicious. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were generous. We each ordered their regular special, which includes wedges and four pieces of chicken: a breast, a leg, a wing, and a thigh. The breading was fantastic—crispy, crunchy, and perfectly golden brown. The chicken itself was juicy and packed with flavor. I’m not sure what kind of brine they use, but it was done just right. And those wedges? Simply amazing. As for the service, it was exceptional. Every server who came to our table was friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our visit. The recycling aspect of the restaurant was intriguing, and the entertainment they provided was delightful. While I have no doubt that the chicken wasn't the healthiest option, watching them 'repurpose' leftovers was quite a sight—I even thought about bringing one home for our dog, but my husband said no. We'll definitely be coming back! That chicken was out of this world!
The chicken here is consistently excellent—always fresh and flavorful. It's no surprise that the dining area is often packed; there's a good reason for that. While you might have to wait a bit for your order, it's definitely worth it. The chicken is cooked to perfection: neither overcooked and dry nor undercooked and unsafe. The hot dishes arrive almost too hot to eat right away, which I think is a positive, and the cold items are served at the right temperature. However, the wait staff can be slow with drink refills, which I've noticed during my multiple visits—it’s a bit of a mix of positives and negatives. In my personal opinion, this is the best chicken in Omaha.
This place is awesome. Great chicken and home made ranch sauce. The stories about the raccoons and cats are true. Just go.
