Slyman's Tavern Orange

The Ruben tasted great but the portion sizes were small for $18 with no side. Then they charge $2 for about 2 tbsp of Thousand Island dressing, which they did not specify was extra... overall food tasted great but over priced.

Do not, I repeat do not be fooled by the pictures. The sandwiches used to look like that, but now they are a pale ghost to what they once were and what's truly annoying is they know how to do it right, but they clearly don't feel like bothering. We got the original sandwich and one of the pieces of rye wasn't even whole. I of course asked for another piece, but what the hell? Go to Corky's, Jack's, Freshly's, Best Gyros or a host of other delis around the city that all serve Vienna Corned Beef and do it up right.

I ordered the turkey dinner with potatoes, gravy, and dessert, and it was incredibly disappointing! The turkey was thinly sliced and more like deli meat, the gravy was a strange, gelatinous brown paste, the potatoes were cold and lumpy, and the vegetables were tough and hard to chew. To make matters worse, the sports ticker above the bar was showing news from 2019 and 2020. How does this place even stay open? I’ve volunteered at food kitchens that serve better meals. On top of that, the tables were sticky and the men's restroom was dirty. Overall, a very unsatisfactory experience!

I've had the pleasure of dining at Slyman's on St. Clair, and I've never been disappointed. Their massive pastrami sandwich is consistently delicious. However, I recently had the chance to try one of their newer locations, and I found it to be overpriced and lacking in flavor. Slyman's is still the best place for beef, no doubt about that. At this point, I would rather go to Arby’s for a fraction of the cost. If you're looking for the absolute best cured beef, I recommend Joe's in Hilliard. Their sandwiches are just as good as Slyman's.

I had lunch today, and it was disappointing. The table was dirty, the bathrooms were in poor condition, and the food was just mediocre. The waitress disappeared after bringing our meals, and my wife's order was incorrect. I won't be returning.
