I thought it was a rather unimpressive looking restaurant in the awesome Carolina hotel but I assumed that they would be renovating it when the lobby is done. We were there for an early dinner and my husband wanted a strip steak but it was not on the Ryder Cup lounge menu. And, the main dining room did not open until 6:00. Despite that, the server went to the dining room and was able to get the strip steak for my husband. I decided to just have the Caesar salad and a few bites of his meal. The wine was good, the Caesar salad was great, and the steak was a perfectly cooked medium and was very tender. The potatoes were also very good. The really went out of their way to accommodate us and we very much appreciated it.
Went for lunch at the Ryder Cup Lounge. First, they can barely accommodate gluten free. No GF menu or notations on menu. No GF bread offered unlike sister restaurant on the 18th green, The Deuce. Pretty much salads only leaving the croutons off which is what my wife, who has celiac ordered. They were out of salmon which was normally on the salad. They served us the Sauvignon Blanc wine we ordered. It was not cold so the waitress perceptively brought us a cup of ice with the wine. Really? She must have thought we were having iced tea. Honestly we should have sent it back and ordered something else. The southern fried chicken sandwich I had was good, so that pulls my rating up to 3 stars. For us, not going back.
Late evening friends gathering out in the porch and rocking chairs enjoying their Pinehurst Mule refreshing drink and ending the night with the towering delicious Keylime Pie!!
The staff are over the top. Genuine HOSPITALITY. The food was delicious.
