Al Cartello - ORBETELLO

Researched and found this Italian beach was highly rated. The beach was gorgeous. Decided to try this restaurant for lunch and so glad we did! It had beautiful views, it was quiet and not crowded, it was clean and the service was good. The food was delicious. Overall, I would highly recommend it!

Amazing location on the sea, popped in for Aperitivo before our dinner nearby and were delighted to enjoy cocktails watching the sunset. Drinks were reasonable at €5 a cocktail of spritz etc. We wished we had booked dinner as the few tables looked like good food and the setting is beautiful.

TERRIBLE!!! DON’T GO!!! One of the worst restaurants I've ever been. Very small portions with exorbitant prices. A pasta with only tomato (and a very small portion) 14 euros. 3 appetizer, 3 pastas, 2 bottles of wine (the cheapest), 2 bottle of water and 5 sorbets ... 208 euros. And the staff (a blond waitress and a big/fat guy from the kitchen) ruined my dinner with their arrogance, they were very snobbish and unfriendly The view is nice but you can find it in other restaurants with more accessible prices and pleasant staff: check la capanuccia, Selva Nera, La locanda di Ansedonia, restorant la strega.. Don’t go to al Cartello!

Wonderful place, professionally managed by friendly and helpful people, excellent cuisine, from typical dishes of the Maremma to fish dishes cooked by wise hands that make it dishes of excellent delicacy. I believe that it opens in late March and it is worth visiting also the pine forest of the phenolic, with its animals and ruins of Roman villas. Recommended walking after the laute and exceptional meal that the restaurant served you. I, by experience, recommend it.

We only took spaghetti with clams and bottarga, one quick, good
