Orcas Cafe

Superlative, consistently exceeds expectations. We have been visiting the Orcas Hotel Cafe since 1998 and it has proven a much better experience than we could hope for every single time.

Great breakfast burrito while waiting for the ferry. I ate at the cafe counter service side. Decent menu (posted). The barista was accommodating and well versed. We hung out on the porch rocking chairs and waited for the ferry to come in.

The service here was outstanding. The staff was perceptive and attentive, making the experience even better. You could genuinely sense that the establishment was well-maintained and taken care of in a thoughtful manner.

The restaurant has a lovely location and the food is quite good. The wait was a bit longer than expected, though perhaps that was just because I was very hungry. I've been here once before, and both times I ordered French fries since they are my favorite. However, both times, I found them to be insufficiently salty. That said, the fries themselves were nearly perfect.

The live music was a nice touch, but the food left something to be desired and took quite a while to arrive. I ordered the chicken sandwich (without pickles or mayo), and when it finally came, the fries were disappointing, and the lettuce on the sandwich was wilted and unappetizing. Although the food was lacking, the service was quite good, and the atmosphere was enjoyable.
