Tom Earl's Back Alley Grill - Orchards

Zero stars! The lady who greeted us was not very happy that she had to give us a table of our choice (outside) and in an empty restaurant made us wait outside. The way he treated us definitely doesn't like people with accents and other colors! After all,there was nothing to grill on the menu at this ?grill restaurant?. We drank a beer and went to lunch at another restaurant wherethey definitely know how to do business !

This quaint little restaurant is literally at the end of an alley. We went down the alley to look at various shops and this is literally at the end of the alley and upon looking at the menu, the names of the dishes are so cute that we had to try it. Wecouldn?t make up her mind on which appetizer to order so we tried the corn fritters and the fried pickles. My girlfriend hadnever had corn fritters before and she really loved them. They were very light and just a little salty but crunchy on theoutside and the sweet this of the cream corn balanced it out perfectly. The fried pickles were also perfectly fried and werecrispy on the outside but still moist and juicy on the inside. I ordered the Hillbilly Philly, Which is their version of thetraditional Philly cheesesteak sandwich. They used brisket which was very flavorful and the au jus dipping sauce was a perfectcomplement. Each of those main courses comes with a choice of two sides and I picked the loaded potato salad and their seasonbaked beans. My girlfriend ordered the BYOB. Build Your Own Bologna sandwich. She ordered the home style green beans andloaded potato salad for sides.

Definitely a 4.5 rating. Food was good especially the wings and chips salsa. The chili fries were ok, the kids liked their wraps and the pork butt/ candied bacon and bologna sandwich was very good. The salads were one of the best I have seen for a side salad.

We love this hidden gem. The hot chicken sandwich is over the top delicious! We eat here every time we are in Gatlinburg. There is usually a bit of a wait to get in, but totally worth it. All of the apps are great, but that hot chicken sandwich is killer!

First off, find parking. Good luck. Then go back to where the driving/walking map app showed you were this place is. You will have to walk into the small shopping center like area. Go all the way back and you will see it. We both ordered a burger. They were good and flavorful. My potato salad was warm and I thought it tasted bland along with the coleslaw. The bathroom, there’s only one and it’s small with no proper place for the paper towels to hang. The young man who worked there just got done putting a new roll in there. He placed them on the tank of the toilet. This is a very bad location as when a person flushes the toilet, the spray can come up and get on the paper towels. I moved them to the sink surface which still isn’t good. That’s about all I can say about this spot. It’s nothing different, it’s just a burger joint.
