The house wine, cannonau di orgosolo, was the perfect match to such extraordinary food. Also the dessert, a “savada”, a typical Sardinian dessert, was remarkable. Prices were very reasonable. The bar served hard liquors from a nearby distillery, CaRu, which is one of the best in the island. We’ll be back soon.
For us, this restaurant was quite a disappointment. We don’t speak Italian and apparently there was no English/French/German menu available. This surely would have made our experience more pleasant! Since we hadn’t had lunch, we thought about taking a menu with several courses for 26€ and 35€ each. We were unsure about the quantity of the meals being served, so we asked the waiter if it was realistic we’d be able to eat all of it, just the two of us. He said yes, but he was wrong! We ALWAYS finish our meals but in this restaurant, we just couldn’t. The meat was greasy, didn’t taste that good, we didn’t like the giblets/gibs and there were a lot of leftovers we couldn’t take home (there is no fridge where we stay). So in the end, a lot of food was being wasted and after the second course we were so full that we refused to have dessert. Maybe just go for pizza instead or go somewhere else…
We stopped here for lunch after visiting Orgosolo. We ate in the restaurant (they also have an outdoor, picnic style service for groups, but apparently you need a reservation for that). The restaurant serves a large selection of regional classics. We tried the salami/cheese plate as a starter and two orders of a local pasta variety one with a mushroom sauce and one with classic tomato sauce. Both were excellent we cleaned every last drop of sauce from the plate with the delicious bread they offered with the meal (free of charge). Paired with Sardinian Ichnusa beer, it was a a fantastic meal! Highly recommended.
A unique experience, unforgettable. we made the excursion in jeep with lunch with the shepherds: very prepared guides, I have seen unique places with detailed explanations of fauna and flora of the territory. lunch was the cherry on the cake: plentiful, great food and wine, convivial. the staff of a unique kindness, honest prices. I recommend it.
Don't miss the menu here, it's absolutely delicious and the portions are huge. Actually one menu feeds 2 persons easily...
