Rustica Pizza Vino - Orillia

It was a musical duo (Bill Candy & Roly Platt) that drew me to visit Rustica for the first time, on a Thursday evening. As always, the guys were wonderful... I knew what to expect from them. But this first experience at Rustica was very enjoyable. I sat with a bunch of new friends who all ordered food. No complaints. Delicious. Service was friendly. We were on the patio (entertainers under a canopy) with excellent weather for an evening in the fresh air. I look forward to the opportunity/excuse to return. I will be keeping my eyes/ears open for other entertainers at this location. Wine selections is extensive, good beers too.

I usually have an appetizer and a main dish, but went this time with dessert in mind - I'd been wanting to try the cannoli for some time, so only had one dish. It was a very big letdown, The filling was ok, but instead of cannoli shell, it was served with deep fried dough in triangles stuck into the filling. It tasted like the dough you smell at a fall fair, and after the first bite, I could not eat it.

I'm a resident of Orillia and am ashamed to have a restaurant like this I'm my town. I have been a contributor to TripAdvisor for many years and have never written a negative review yet. Usually If I am not satisfied I just move on and not return. I have traveled to over 50 countries and this has been my worst experience. It started off well with the drinks but after just sitting there for some time I had to get up from the table and ask someone to take our orders. We then waited over 30 minutes with nothing on our table even though we had 3 8-9 year olds. I then got up and told the owner I would pay the whole bill even for the dinners not received. the owner then said our meal was ready. My wife and I was given our mains and when we were have finished we received our Caesar salads. This was quite a surprise, a whole head of lettuce uncut topped with a mayo dressing. To add insult to injury the bill came and guess what, I was charged for 2 items not received. Think I'll return or recommend Rustica? Wait and see.Leo Aldoroty705-259-2454

Located on Mississauga st. in downtown Orillia about the 200 block. very quaint and well set out excellent customer service and well staffed pizza looked very good plenty to choose from my wife had noodles with peppers and sausage excellent i had calamari, salmon and shrimp on a bed of broccoli excellent brunch is available Saturday and Sunday there were children in the restaurant while we were there however unless there was a children's menu we didn't see they would be limited to pizza only

Enjoyed a long slow dinner. The place was very busy. A musician was plying guitar and singing well-known tunes.
