Taverne - Orléans

Nice decor, shocking lack of care re dietary requirements. We have dietary requirements which aren't exactly rare need to avoid gluten and two kinds of nuts. The waitress assured us that they'd provide a meal which catered for these, and we specifically checked each item we ordered. Yet no fewer than four times were we brought items containing gluten, ranging from bread to wafers in the supposedly gluten free sorbet! It made for a stressful meal and gave zero confidence that the assurances we'd been given could be taken seriously. Service was also very slow. An attractive setting, but a very poor experience.

On top of having great food it is a joy to see what a well oiled operation the Tavern is. The serving staff is so pro and every thing flawless. Seems obvious that the team get along and are happy and it really makes for a nice visit.

The view on the Loire and seatings are perfect; the Flammküche is quite good and the wine in pichet is reasonably priced for the location. The oysters however were not of a high quality and milky. We had to eat in the lounge seats because everything was reserved (and after a long drive I didn’t want to look for a new spot). We had the salmon tartare, which was not bad at all; it came with a good salad, but the fries were bone dry. The service was quite friendly and helpful as opposed to what I’ve read here (especially in France). I’m not sure what the concept is, is it a noisy and burstingclub with , a seafood restaurant or a flammküche pizzeria? Whatever it may be, this place definitely has its audience of “m’as tu vu”, tomorrowlandish young women and men the latter with muscles pumped up as much as the dj’s beats.

Nice place to drink a drink or eat. pleasant terrace to enjoy the sun, or in the evening around a glass of heated terrace with a beautiful musical atmosphere. friendly and professional staff. always a lot of people. the only flat menu poor enough in vegetarian dish, small choice.

From the large brewery to well-oiled routings a day of high affluence but with a rhyme service and hearty dishes.
