Best bar in Orvieto... they have a real mixologist at night named Slavic... he speak at least 4 languages that I know of... Perfect English and Italian... their desserts and pastries are fantastic! Especially their chocolate pie!!!! Omg!
Such a perfect spot. Wonderful food and atmosphere. Don't miss the upstairs outdoor patio area. With its wifi, it's a perfect workspace to write your breakthrough novel. My server was even willing to charge my phone! (note: his co-worker's response suggests this may be a limited-time service ;
Exquisite! Came here with Globus Tours in April! Loved the atmosphere and the chocolates available! I highly recommend trying the Hot Cioccolato! It is legit chocolate melted and it is hot! T was rob with flavor and silky smooth! The staff were friendly and gave us an assortment of pastries to try, it was free, granted we came with Globus Tours! Best place in Orvieto!!!!!
Great atmosphere and food. Four different rooms to eat in, each with their own setting. We ate outside on a back patio surrounded by flowers and trees on a perfect night. The pear and blue cheese appetizer was a great start with our wine. Enjoyed sharing the large strawberry and cheese salad. Our entrees included pasta with meat sauce, chicken and fries, and the ravioli with ricotta cheese. I think we agreed the ravioli was the best, but everyone enjoyed their meals. Ate too much dinner to order dessert : Total bill for 3 including wine was 65€.
We liked Cafe Montanucci so much that we stopped in four times during 2 1/2 days in Orvieto. Our first meal was lunch shortly after checking in to the B&B both the Caprese and Tuna sandwiches were gigantic, flavorful, and delivered quickly. Dessert included a Nutella cup and some incredible pastry lightly dusted with powdered sugar and filled with a decadent cream. I stopped in later the same night to grab a post dinner snack and found a different environment well dressed diners eating in style and a crowded counter waiting for espresso; quite the contrast from lunch. The next two visits were both to go for berry tarts and yes, more Nutella cups. Why not?!? Service was absolutely stellar. The staff could have cared less that we were tourists they treated us like locals and were patient with our oohing and ahhing at the delicacies in the bakery case and our slowly developing Italian. Montanucci is a must visit while in Orvieto. This cafe and the town in general made us want to move to Orvieto just to have the opportunity to experience this all the time. Well done!
