Double Burgers - Oshawa

The food is average at best and there are more hospitable chip tuck locations. I thought this place might have changed over the years but it is still the most uncomfortable restaurant in town. The only good thing I can add is that the young couple who run it come across as people who through hard work will build it up.

As for the criticisms in other reviews, I don't understand the complaints about the seats not being comfortable - my buns always feel toasted and once I start eating, I don't care where I am sitting. The wait time for food is typically only 5-10 minutes if ordering in person, and the staff even goes the extra mile to offer delivery without causing significant delays in service. Lastly, griping about a 25 cent debit charge seems petty considering the fair prices for such delicious food. In my opinion, it is a small price to pay for such a luxury dining experience.

The last time I went to this place was when it was called Burger Express. This place hasn't changed in years. The seats are made of pinewood planks and feel just as soft. The take-out meals look not too bad but to sit and wait on these seats is painful - and I've got lots of padding. The food was just OK but the burger bun would have been much tastier if it had a slight toasting, it was gagging. The waitress/cook was very pleasant but having to answer the phone, do take-outs and look after customers slows everything down. I only dropped in because of being in the proximity and old time sake but in future I will pass this one by. One other thing, they have cash or debit but there is a 25c charge for using debit.

Several individuals recommended this burger joint to me, so I decided to order delivery for my daughters and myself. Initially, they estimated that the order would arrive within 40 minutes, but it actually arrived in less than 25 minutes! I have never tasted such a delicious burger before. The poutine and onion rings were also extremely tasty, and the portion sizes were so generous that I could only eat half of my meal. The food at this small restaurant is absolutely amazing! YUMMY :-)

While the restaurant may not have the most appealing appearance, the owners, a couple, have unfortunately been victims of multiple robberies and are just doing their best to run their business. They could use more support from customers.
