Hy-vee - Oskaloosa

Doesn't have as many options as Walmart, but they make it up with the specialty items. They offer a nice variety of some local vendors. I usually will shop here if I don't need anything other then groceries. As I mentioned they don't carry much other then food products. They do have a few cashiers on hand and have been adding in some self checkouts if you don't want to interact with a cashier. Overall, it is an excellent grocery store. They offer a variety of fresh produce and other food products. They even have a restaurant in store that does catering as well as serving food in store.

I only go there to pick up my medication, but the staff is incredibly friendly. I especially appreciate Heather and the team that delivers my meds to my house!

The store itself is fantastic. The staff is friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist. I enjoy the bakery, appreciate the meat selection, and have consistently liked the flower department. However, the Deli tells a different story. Since I’m not a fan of fast food and prefer something homemade when I’m short on time, I often turn to the Deli, but my experiences have been consistently disappointing. Just today, my husband picked up some potatoes with white gravy, and it had a strange chemical taste—it was awful. Last week, I ordered Chinese food, and the rice came out so dry that it was inedible. A few months ago, I tried an omelet that was burnt beyond recognition; I couldn’t even cut it with a knife. Who would serve something like that? After today, I’m done. I won’t be giving it another chance. It seems there’s a complete lack of interest in providing good quality food, and I won't be dining there anymore.

It's nice, real cash in the registers. If it's obvious that you're new in the area, the employees ask if they can help you find something. Unfortunately, some things, everyone is out
