A bit noisy at first (a large party nearby), but Alex’s food and wine recommendations made us oblivious. Both pizza and pasta was excellent, and he quite kindly treated us to a bit of antipasti. My husband is already looking forward to going back during his next trip to Oslo.
We were waiting at a bus stop and a local told us that if we went to Majorstua , there were lots of reasonable restaurants so we took the tram here. There was bnot a big choice. We would have liked Norwegian food but there were a lot of burger and pizza chains and Thai and Indian restaurants. Finally we decided that this was the better choice. We had recently visited Italy so I did not want a Pizza, as I did not think anyone could reach the standard of the ones we had in Trieste and Venice so I had a duck salad, but my husband chose a pizza and pronounced it very good. My duck salad was excellent. We had affogatta for dessert which was also very tasty. Most of the pwople eating here were locals, so that is always a good sign.
We were a party of 12 guests and most ordered pizzas which were described as either average and average . Unfortunately, I decided to order pasta with crayfish. The waiter did a good job selecting a suitable wine and expectations were high. Unfortunately, the chef must have decided to use all of the left overs from his chilies thus succeeding in killing both the dish, the wine, and almost the unfortunate guest. Conclusion: Do not ever eat anything but pizza at this restaurant as the chef does not taste what he/she is sending out.
After work, a good local beer and fantastic Neapolitan Pizza. This is one of the best pizzas in Norway. Well worth the money….
One of the best Italian restaurants in town, with delicious pizza great service and a very good taste of wine. Highly recommended
