The server introduced each dish in fluent English, detailing the ingredients. One member of our group was a non-meat eater, and the restaurant graciously accommodated by substituting fish for the meat. We also enjoyed several delightful amuse bouches throughout the meal. The service was top-notch and the food was incredibly delicious. While it is on the pricier side, we found the experience well worth it. We were more than happy to settle the bill.
I’ve been a consumer of TripAdvisor for a long time, but never took the time to create a review, until now. I’ve travelled the world, and always thought the best food was in the US South (New Orleans, Birmingham, Atlanta, Greenville, Memphis), but the Schnitzel here at Vintage Kitchen rivals the best dish anywhere. It makes me feel at home, as does the pleasant staff, but with a unique, Scandinavian touch. Highly recommended. If you are in Oslo, dine at Vintage Kitchen. It was recommended to me by a local, so you know this isn’t just a tourist speaking.
The food was creative and delicious, with good local food . The wine pairings were great. Friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant has a modern rustique/vintage style. We tried the restaurant but they serve food in the bar as well. I highly recommend it.
At Vintage Kitchen the danish chef serves high-end quality danish open-faced sandwiches at lunch time. The place is small and elegant, and fills up quickly. I can recommend the place if you love dark buttered rye bread TOPPED with either cold cuts of roast beef or pork or marinated heering, e.g. my favourite Christiansøpigens røde kryddersild with traditional garnishes. One piece is enough for lunch, two if you are really hungry. In Norway unfortunately, you will have to wait until 1 pm to enjoy a snaps with your cold beer and heering. I can recommend Vintage Kitchen.
I brought my customer and some collegues to this restaurant for lunch. They serve Danish Sandwitches for lunch and we tried eel, fried fish and pate of liver. We were all very happy with our sandwitch. One is enough for a lunch. Service was excellent. The location is very informal and not too big.
