Located next to T&T, this pho resto has some of the best Hanoi pork dishes I have ever tried. Rivals the one I frequent in Vaughan. The menu options are diverse enough and the food quality is very high. After a certain point, all pho restos become very similar. What it boils down to is quality. Here the meats were very high grades with no fat and gristle. Service was really good. Friendly, efficient, young man. I would come again for sure. Thanks! 4.5 stars
I pretty much drive past Pho Thu Do every day, but I 've never stopped by to check the place out. I was craving pho so much today that I figured it was finally time to give this place a try. The restaurant was decently full when I entered, which gave me the impression that it was still a popular pick even amongst all the other food options around. The 2 servers that were working were both friendly and professional. They let me choose my own table and were quick with menus and ordering. The decor of the place is really nice and the seating that they have is really comfortable. Thick cushioned chairs happy butts! I got fried springs rolls $3.25 and pho with beef slices and beef balls $8.25 . Springs rolls came quickly, but were disappointing. They were only 2/3 the size of springs rolls at other pho places. They were also so heavily greasy that I couldn 't taste much of the flavor of what was inside. However, I was impressed that I could actually find whole shrimp in them. My pho came out so piping hot that the medium rare beef was very well done and a little dry. I added bean sprouts to the soup and they stayed permanently raw physics mystery??? . The pho was just so-so. It didn 't smell as herbacious as the pho I usually have and the soup was a little bland. My pho craving was satisfied, but I might go to Chinatown for more options next time. The staff and atmosphere are great and the food is decent. I guess its worth a try if you want pho and you 're in the area?
If you did not get your Pho fix during your time in Ottawa and are flying out from the airport, Pho Thu Do also has a location by the airport. It is not as good as the Chinatown location and more expensive. Nevertheless, it is good and conveniently by the airport if you are looking for a place to eat before your flight. I ordered the beef Pho: P9 Medium Rare, Welldone, Beef Tripe and Tendon. I also ordered the quail egg in it so I guess it is actually P11 Combination [with P9] and Quail Egg. Love the food there! My family had Pho, rice noodle and a few appetizers and everything was tasty, healthy, and it was not too heavy like some other pho restaurant I tried in the area. I am were very pleased with everything. The staffs were friendly and the service was prompt. Not to mention the place looks fantastic.
