Solid chain steak/burger joint in Kanata, OntarioWent here before the Sens/Kings game.
We drove two hours for a birthday celebration only to discover that the restaurant was closed for renovations. It would have been nice if they had posted this on their website as we had visited the site for this location to view their menu. I love this restaurant, but their failure to post this closure was annoying.
Visited as a family of four, ordered ribs, burgers, sides of cole slaw and fries. Delicious - served fresh and piping hot, did not disappoint. Fall-off-the bone ribs smothered in that smokey BBQ sauce was a hit. Service was friendly. For a casual meal the features meats like chicken, ribs, salads and more, you should consider this place.
For a very long time Baton Rouge has been one of our favourite restaurants. We have been to the one downtown Ottawa as well as the one in Kanata on numerous occasions. We eat out quite often and it has always exceeded our expectations. However, in early August 2017 we took a friend who was visiting from Victoria, BC for the first time and, unfortunately, it did not impress.The meal started off with a poor milkshake; however, they did provide another one that was much better. Our friend asked about 3 of the different lobster dishes. The waiter highly recommended the one she chose - the lobster risotto. Although it tasted like lobster, it was ground so finely, there was no actual lobster that we could see at all. My wife had ordered the lobster on a bun that she had ordered a couple of weeks prior. It too was ground very finely with less filling in the actual bun. There were no visible chunks of lobster as on the previous visit. It To be fair to the restaurant, we did not say anything about these two dishes to our waiter. I then found a piece of plastic in my seafood pasta dish (it looked like it came from a plastic zip tie). When we showed the plastic to the waiter, the manager did come to our table. He took my husbands dish off the menu and offered him a free dessert. He also gave us $20.00 to use on our next visit. It was odd though - it seemed to us as though the manager could not get away from our table fast enough. I don't even think he introduced himself, even after we stated that we ate at the restaurant quite frequently. The whole evening was very very disappointing.
