Little Euro Deli - Ottawa

I often eat at Little Euro Deli. They make great sandwiches. The owner is always in the store. You should give this place a try. You will not regret it!

This unassuming little deli located in Kanata lakes serves up the best sandwich in the west end of Ottawa. If you are picky, a little particular and love friendly service, you might not like this place but if you love a good fresh sandwich at a great price this is the spot for you. There is no seating , the service in not really friendly, you basically walk in , stand quietly and wait your turn while the stern owner / "sandwich lady" gets right to the point, looks at you and says , Sandwich! You must quickly nod, say yes and then she will make you a sandwich consisting of whatever fresh choice meats she has out that day served with fresh lettuce, cheese and pickles, your only choice is on the mustards! If you going during the week get there before the local high school is dismissed for lunch otherwise you'll be waiting all day and the "sandwich lady " gets a little more unpleasant during that time .

I have been shopping at Little Euro Deli for years. I too am a big fan of their sandwiches. $4/each made on lovely fresh buns with everything on them. Deelish!And while the sandwiches are being made it is a treat to mosey around the Deli and see what other treasures you can't live without. You can buy the Polish mayonnaise that they use on your sandwich, they have perogies and cabbage rolls for sale in the freezer, deli pickles, a beautiful meat counter with THE BEST double-smoked sausage ever! All manner of soup mixes, candies and chocolates, sauerkraut, baked goods and desserts. The place is run by two ladies who are very friendly and most helpful. They'll make up meat and cheese trays upon request. It's a must see for any foodie.

I shop here on a regular basis and the sandwiches are amazing. I can't say I have ever asked for a specific type and there is no menu board. You just walk in and ask for a sandwich tell her anything you don't want and she makes you a sandwich with whatever meats she has out that day. The polish mayonnaise is excellent. The only bad thing is when they run out of buns :(

Get there before lunch for some fantastic sandwiches, and pick up some European groceries or fresh cold cuts while you're there.
