Lone Star Texas Grill - Ottawa

Lone Star in general has declined in quality and increased in price. Tonight’s visit was for a family members birthday. The server was great and friendly however the service overall is lacking. Almost 45 minutes in waiting for our food. This specific location has continued to decline in terms of available servers and customer service. I would recommend any other restaurant in the area.

Today 3rd visit at Lone star , first at this location. there were 3 of us for early diner at 4 /5 ish o clock. . Place was empty 2 other customers dining . The waitress greated us and brought the menuS and i asked for water. We got nacho chips and salsa i then asked for water , it took a while . Till then its fine , Within 15 we were ready to order but the waitress was busy taking with the table whom was there before us, So we waited and then we waived for her attention after a few more minutes she still ended her conversation seated with other customers. I think she was annoyed plus i asked for more water. 2 more customers arrived they had ordored drinks seemed like she knew them she was friendlyer anyways but thats ok but we didnt feel welcomed felt like we were annoying her or she didnt tell her face that she likes to work there at that moment . Maybe its a bad day but man i had to go to the bar for more water and asked if we could get a jug. So she didnt refill and they dont do jugs ... waited another 8 for a glass of water at this point i was annoyed. Food came in, fish taco nice amount of fish and lots of coleslaw in it but the tortilla was fridge cold i tell you ! i did not tell the server i was thinking hell she is gonna hate me and i gave up to again another bad experience at lone star , see below.. Man i m never going back there for sure i will go at ottawa near science and tech one ,where it was fantastic.

This was a very mediocre place to eat. The server tried her best, but the food was bland, it turned out that some items were not available then they were and so on. It did not seem like a well run place.

I will admit I am not crazy about dining out. Nothing to do with COVID-19. I would prefer to eat at home. There are exceptions as I would definitely return here. Blaze was our delightful server. This is not an easy job these days with all restaurants being short staffed. She was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. All good things. My husband devoured the fajitas. I enjoyed the fish tacos even though I could not even eat half the serving. I wish they had a fish taco from the appetizer menu as that would be a meal for me. Oh, and we each had a perfectly chilled beer. You should go. And thanks Blaze for a lovely evening.

We were served by Ace and he was amazing. Super friendly and personable. Went above and beyond for us. Food was delicious lots of leftovers from loading up on the tortillas and fresh salsa. Pina colada hit the spot on the nice warm sunny day. Highly recommend.
