The Legion Hall itself is nothing special, but my neighbor claims that their homemade beer-battered fish and chips are out of this world. I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised. The deep-fried haddock was delicious, with a light batter that allowed the perfectly cooked fish to shine through. The clientele at the Legion hall is diverse, with seniors, retired local veterans, and high-tech workers from nearby Silicon Valley North, also known as North Kanata, all enjoying their meals together. Fish and chips are only served on Fridays starting at 11:30 am, and there is an open bar where you can purchase drinks to accompany your meal. Since the Legion is a non-profit organization, this meal helps support their many fundraisers. My neighbor was right - Sue in the kitchen really knows how to cook fish! The Legion also offers plenty of parking and a warm welcome from friendly staff as soon as you walk through the door.
If you leave one of their events hungry, it's your own fault. The food is plentiful and delicious. Drinks are affordable and inviting.
I was very impressed with this restaurant. We decided to try it out on a whim, as we hadn't eaten here before.
So I'm going to be honest, I'm not sure whether I should leave this review a 3 or 4 starsLet me explain..this might be lengthy.
