Feedback gevenThe last evening of our rainy “winter holiday” 2022 in the beautiful city of Otterndorf always comes to an end. Traditionally we go to a gastro in Otterndorf last night, which unfortunately still has enough. In all these years, however, we have unfortunately not managed to return directly to the old pension “Alt Otterndorf” on the market. It's a great time to meet this little restaurant. The old, inconspicuous brick house is hidden in a corner of the Otterndorf market square. In addition, the Dönerbistro or the other shops are easy to draw attention. This does not take the “Alt Otterndorf” as it still takes a little time in the cozy restaurant. A typical dark, North German guest room is located on the softly padded chairs. Guest room Once you sit, you can use the rustic ceiling beams, the cassette walls, the many “Ramsch” (coffee-edoses, diaries, etc.), which serve as decoration, and of course the many pictures on the walls that tell from the history of Otterndorf. Decoration Not really in the picture fits the massive counter in the middle of the room. Theke Here you can sit comfortably, here you can ring, here you can spend the evening. A young host couple threw this Friday night into the shop. The small restaurant is very good that we had previously reserved by phone. The hostess took us friendly and accompanied us at our reserved table. After checking the vaccination status in a penile way, she had the menus in her hand. Excerpt from the menu These are simple and self-designed, but abundantly filled with the preview of delicious foods. Anyone who likes it will fill here from carving to fish dishes to fresh crabs. Prices are moderate. We quickly found our drinks, and so we ordered: · 1x 0.4ér Orange juice for 4,20 € · 1x Glas Weißburgunder from Nah for 5,20 € · 1x 0.4ér Dithmarscher Pils for 3,50 € The young lady escaped behind her heights, the other guests of course still in sight, and so besides our drinks even more on the fingertips flows a few more pils for the neighbors. The whole thing happened more than professional, you noticed that the host is with love at her job. I think it's nice that the Dithmarscher Pils is typing local beer here and not necessarily taking the Pils from large corporations. Nothing upsets me more than if I still get Pils from Saxony in the distance. After our drinks were in place after a few minutes, we ordered our main dishes. Since the last days we had slept together, I shared my wife's preliminary soup. So we ordered: · 1x tomato soup with cream frogs, plus fresh baguette for 5,50€ · 1x tomato soup baked, crocheted, with homemade potato salad for 19,80€ · 1x tomato bag with roasted potatoes, with homemade Remoulade for 17,80€ · 1x tomato sauce Finkenwerder type with onion speck80€ A quarter of an hour after our order came the tomato soup. With three spoons, as daughters have also interposed. Tomato soup creamy, spicy and steaming hot. The cream-fraiche nockerls swim at the bottom of the soup. Our miraculous views as these might come, probably also caught with the cook from the kitchen, and so he stood at us at the table and told us his "secret", as he simply manages to do with the nockerln. Great, good. There were two halves of “simple” toast bread tomato soup. Tomato soup with cream frogs, with fresh baguette for 5,50€ Each dish we chose included a small bowl of salad. That was, typical of such small village pubs, pure convenience and tasted so. Saure beans, sour cucumber slices, fresh salad and fresh tomatoes finished dressing with a stick. That's better, but I don't expect anything else in a pub. Salad plate The great child had decided today for the sollen fillet Finkenwerder Art. The tuber fillet with egg crust around well roasted, a small piece with onion spectrum and rosemary lay on. The plague itself was a little lazy, a little more spice would have done it well. We also had a more plentiful and more chess. The roast potatoes, on the other hand, were very seasoned, with some onion and bacon. The homemade Remoulade was creamy, spicy, small onion and herbal pieces were abundant. Schollenfilet Finkenwerder type with onion species, roast potatoes, with homemade Remoulat My wife chose the cable junk with roast potatoes and the homemade Remoulade. There were also three fillets fried in the egg shell on the plate. Compared to the cottages, the Zander cake was well seasoned, but its slightly fishy taste was clearly present. Here, too, the self-made, crowned roasted roast potatoes and the in-house Remoulade. All right. Cable-jaufilet with roasted potatoes, with homemade Remoulade cable-jaufilet with roasted potatoes, with homemade Remoulade I had opted for the baked red bass with homemade potato salad and homemade Remoulade. Two large, pink fried fillets from the redfish covered a good half of the plate. The solid, slightly red-meshed fish fillet was slightly seasoned, the peculiar taste of the red bar appeared clearly. Redfish, grilled, homemade potato salad On the other side of the dish was a large bunch of delicious potato salad. Large slices of potatoes with egg and cucumber as well as a thick, spicy mayonnaise made this potato salad really delicious. So we love the potato salad of Saxony, so I know it from Grandma, mothers and now from my wife. Also here the scrub of Remoulade, which should not be missing. Redfish, grilled, homemade potato salad After so much food there is of course still regret, and so an East Land Aquavit was donated to us at the expense of the house. Our conclusion: We left €78.30 in the “Alt Otterndorf”. A typical village pub. Cosy, rustic, private. Everyone knows the food, but it's kind of natural. The cook always came to our main course and also asked the other guests if everything fits. The host alone throws the service and is always friendly. Something bad we weren't even here. Let's hope we'll go to Otterndorf for a few years in winter vacation. The “Alt Otterndorf” we will remember.
