The Montague Arms - Oundle

I ordered the prawn tempura appetizer and a steak. The prawns were decent but nothing remarkable. The steak was good, although there were a few crispy bits on it that I couldn't quite identify. The accompanying portion of fries was quite small. Two members of our party had the fish and chips and were disappointed; they both felt that the fish and batter lacked flavor, with one person only managing to eat half due to their frustration with the bland taste. I'm unsure how everyone else in our group felt about their meals. Additionally, splitting the bill was a bit chaotic, as the last person to settle up had to cover the outstanding amount. Despite these issues, we enjoyed the atmosphere and plan to return. Next time, we’ll definitely explore different menu options. On a positive note, the parking lot is spacious, and there are plenty of seats available, including a nice outdoor area.

Our friend took us to their lovely restaurant for lunch yesterday, and the meal was absolutely delicious! The dessert was to die for, and the service was impeccable. Nathan was our waiter, and I can't say enough good things about him. He was friendly, and we had a great time laughing together. If all restaurants had a Nathan, we would be more than happy! He showed a genuine interest in our daughter, who plays on a football team consisting of 11 boys and only one girl. Please extend our thanks to him for his fabulous service.

Fantastic meal last night. starter of Chili-Punnen and then followed by the burgers. too full to finish mine. eating came really fast and piping hot. very friendly and efficient staff. would recommend booking because it was really busy. great pub, great food, great staff.

I recently dined there, and on Sunday, I had the beef sirloin roast. I haven't tasted something so delicious since my mother's cooking. The staff is excellent; I have no complaints. As I mentioned the day before, they have done a fantastic job making the Montagu Arms the best pub/restaurant for miles, in my opinion. I should have said this sooner. Well done to the young team!

Absolutely fantastic pub, was in the area and stopped off on Sat for a drink. Was so good returned the following day for food which was great, Great beer and great hospitality. Would be very happy for this to be my local 10 out of 10.
