Taberna Do Baco - Ourém

Demos com este restaurante por acaso. Costumamos ir ao Curral mas estava cheio e não conseguimos mesa. Tentámos a Taberna do Baco e tivemos sucesso! Que agradável surpresa! Comida super caseira em doses generosas com preços muito amigáveis! Foi como almoçar em casa no conforto de um ambiente silencioso com a lareira acesa. Adorámos tudo desde o ambiente, os preços, o pato com laranja no forno e a galinha no forno! Só pecaram pela baixa variedade de sobremesas mas demos o desconto por ser domingo : Excelente preço/qualidade! Voltaremos!

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch in Ourem before visiting the castle. We happened upon this place and we were seated outside by the boss . He didn 't speak English and we don 't speak Portuguese so we communicated with my limited French. He explained the menu to us in French and we told him we were interested in seafood and fish they also serve many meat dishes . We enjoyed a tasty appetizer of a warm grilled portobello mushroom with cheese followed by a fish and prawn risotto type dish. Both were incredible. The main dish was served in a pot and stayed warm throughout the meal. The barman looked after our drinks and we enjoyed chatting with him. We sat in a lovely outdoor area under which was sheltered from the sun. The indoor space is nice as well--lots of character. Highly recommend

The food was amazing we had the octopus and steak!! The octopus was sooo tender and the steak as well . I would recommend this restaurant to anyone ! The service was amazing even though we didn't speak Portuguese our waiter showed us pictures of the food and gave us recommendations which were on point ! If we are back in the area we would definitely come back.

Good piece of bacalhau a bit too salted in our opinion. Portions are too big to eat everything. Specialized restaurant to all cookings of fish
