We came on a bike tour through the weinberg and thought of a glass of wine. the restaurant ended the lunch service. it looked really good! we will visit next time. weeping was great and we returned the next morning to pick up a few cases to return to london. 5 stars for wein. I will be back next year at lunchtime!
Algueira is one of the rare places in the Spanish wine industry, where the respect for the terroir is somewhat more than a marketing message. the passion of the family owner of the weinguts is transferred to them in an impressive wine tasting (10 eur). audiovisual representations of the weinberg with detailed explanations of the floors and orientations, including a retrospective vision as they look last century, helps them to create the incredible amount of work and love focused on this country wein combine art and science (they are now working with 16 different local grapes and try to restore more in the future). we were in a group of four and felt safe all the time with enough space held between the small groups in the wine tasting. each wore a mask (one must be on these covid times). we chose the entire Monty package (canyon bootsfahrt weinverkostung restaurant mahlzeit) and we enjoyed it enormously. it helped to have the boot only for us, not only on covid security grounds, but also for the private sphere and additional space we could enjoy. the view of the terraced vineyards of the river is breathtaking, as the steep hills surround it. if they happen to visit this magical corner of Spain, this is a worthy day trip. it's a must if they like weeping.
We have booked a tour in advance and a tasting and lunch on a Saturday afternoon at 12:30. we were also suggested a boat trip to add the total experience, and I thought it would have been nice. However, we have misunderstood the time to get to the river to take a boat and realize that we would have been late for the boat trip. to be friendly, we have written an e-mail and then called to ensure that we cancel the boat trip so that they don't wait for us. the dame on the phone decided to change our booking to a more convenient time for them, making a complet mess our of an absolutely common situation. we called 3 times, try to tell her in Spanish and English, she refused to speak if by the way) that we do not want to change the time of the tour, but she refused and told us that it was not possible at all and that our tasting at 13:30 a.m., followed by lunch at 14:30 a.m. that was something completely different than we had agreed before. Since we were already close, we decided to dive and speak directly. fortunately, the owner sohn fabio was there for us and he welcomed us with much ease and willingness to show his weeping and their passion. we have absolutely the experience that weep, the explanation, his professionalism, his dedication and his knowing and we are so great that we finally decided to come. the wee are absolutely beautiful, the amount of work they are in their wee, it is amazing, and they can really feel the work and the dedication they are for their territory, it is preservation and the culture and tradition. the rude lady on the other side had to come this and tell us that we have changed her plans and did what we obviously do not accept. bad review for her, but wonderful review for fabio and his family and her wee! many thanks again fabio. valeria and matteo
