Galanga Bistro Thai - Outremont

Chuch has completely transformed. This restaurant has improved significantly, going from mediocre to pretty good to even great.

Chuchai et Chuch is the quick-service version of their main restaurant, Chuchai. The food quality here is average at best.

This may not look like an awesome place, but make no mistake, the food was deee-lic-ous. simply said, everything we ate was great.

This restaurant has a funky decor with nice table tops and interior decor not mentioning the nice terrace. There are the top half dozen Thai restaurants that most Montrealers know but this is not so well known. Nevertheless, we found that out of all, this had what appeared to be the most genuine Thai food. The spices such as lemon grass were visible and could be smelt.the tase They have only a small selection but they appear to do them well. The green mango salad had cocktail shrimp on top and was very good and so was the dumplings in peanut sauce which could have been less salty though. The chicken with basil green curry was excellent. The sautéed prawns with aubergine was good but the prawns were of poor quality.The waiter said that the duck in red curry is the best dish but we did not try.The creme brûlée with Padang was delicious .The service was impeccable and the owner friendly and welcoming. A very nice place.

Good local neighborhood Thai located on a quiet street in Outremont. Great terrace in summer and very friendly service.
