This is a lovely spot for a ladies' luncheon or to enjoy some French desserts. The location on 119 Street is more modern and streamlined, while the original location on Main Street offers a more complete experience. If you want the full ambiance, I recommend visiting the main street location.

The food is consistently good, and the atmosphere is very welcoming.

This restaurant is a beloved institution in Kansas City. The food, desserts, and coffee are exceptional—definitely worth trying! We love coming here on weekends for the lunch special, which includes bread, a specialty coffee drink, a main entree, sides, and a pastry from the display case, all for around $20. It's truly impressive and gives you the feeling of being in a charming European café! The owners are always present and incredibly friendly, and the service is consistently outstanding. We absolutely adore this place!

I felt unwelcome during my visit. I arrived 25 minutes before closing and was told they might be able to warm up a quiche for me. We ordered coffee and dessert, and during our time there, I noticed the server sitting down to enjoy a full meal. This was my first time at the restaurant, and I also purchased a large box of chocolates, but I felt uncomfortable while selecting them. With so many other nearby options that offer better customer service, I don’t think we’ll be returning.

We also enjoy lunch there occasionally. Whenever we do, I end up loving whatever I choose, although we always check the day’s menu to ensure there’s a non-pork option for us. Most recently, I had the turkey sandwich, which was both adorable and delicious. My husband and daughter tried the chicken pot pie and mushroom soup, and they both enjoyed those as well! In short, if you haven’t experienced Andre's yet, you absolutely should!
