I ordered the catfish platter w/ cabbage and mac and cheese. I do not know what was better the fish or the mac and cheese! Although the wait was long; it was worth it. I am a patient person and, to be honest.....it's reassuring to me that a restaurant that takes the necessary time to prepare my food is a restaurant that cares about quality and doing it right!
This was my first visit to this establishment and I only ordered sides but I was very impressed. The greens were delicious and you could taste the ham hocks in the greens. There was a small bone in them though which would be dangerous if a kid had them. The yams were delicious and just the right amount of sweet. The macaroni and cheese was flavorful but wasn't evenly salted. I also loved the cornbread and was happy that it was slightly sweet. Overall, I really enjoyed the food but wish the customer service was a bit better. I would definitely return though.
This has been my go to spot for Southern cuisine, since opening. They never disappoint, well let's say 99.9%. I want to commend the staff with the handling of a problem I encountered with my previous order. They found a way to resolve my issue, without me taking a loss. I most definitely will continue to patronage the restaurant and highly recommend them.
Southern cooking and that down home taste makes this place a peach! They have a great variety on the menu and I have not been disappointed. So if you want the taste of a home cook meal, this is where you should go in Owings Mills!
I’ve found my new home, I thought I was eating my moms collard greens and cornbread muffins and the whiting was fried to perfection, when I took my first bite I had to call the restaurant. I just moved here from SC, everything was wonderful!!!!
