C K Cafe - Oxbow

Been there several times and each visit is pretty regrettable. The food is your typical greasy-spoon, Chinese-Canadian food place. However, I've found hair in the food multiple times and a close friend even found a beetle in a chicken ball. The service is very slow, even when not busy. I've waited over an hour and a half to get my order. And the buffet rules are insane. My wife ordered from the lunch buffet and also ordered individual meal orders for each of our kids. She gave my son one chicken ball from her plate and was charged another entire buffet order for sharing from her plate - even though each person ordered an individual meal! I can't recommend visiting this restaurant.

Stopped in to grab a couple take out buffet orders. Owner would not let us dish up our own containers, stating that she has to limit customers to certain amounts of food. Does not matter if we sit in an load our plates up three times I guess but if you want take out she has to dish it up. One time some friends and I sat in there my friend grabbed hot sauce and she got mad at him for grabbing it then told us it costs 1$ per squirt of the hot sauce. I've given this place so many chances because restaurants here are limited but I've had enough. She clearly does not care about repeat customers.

We were passing through Oxbow and had a late lunch at the little Chinese / Canadian Cafe / Take out on Main Street. The Menu was large and portions were too. We enjoyed what we ordered and the cafe was busy with locals which is always a good sign. Bathroom facilities and high chairs for little ones. The decor is basic but very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

She gave my son a chicken ball from her plate and was charged another complete buffet order for the exchange from her plate, although each person ordered an individual meal! I can't recommend visiting this restaurant.
