Asian Mama - Oxford

The food isnt bad here, its my go to in headington when i go for a Chinese, but the costs have gone up so much! I see a lot of companies taking advantage of people since covid etc, the meals here have gone up close to 3 pounds each! Drinks have doubled in price, just puts me off. Places like this end up shooting themselves in the foot.

What a find we ate in and the food was great it is a little strange to pay up front but I think this is because it is primerily a take away. The food was very good we had a duck starter very tasty nice fresh cucumber and onion with a good hoisin sauce, then we both had sweet and sour pork belly it was excellent. Over all a very good chance find.

Ordered soup as part of family meal. The soup pot had no liquid left in it when opened following delivery. Asian mama refused to replace or refund soup saying it was fine when it left!

In general sense everything is OK, but for the price you would expect some more investment in customer service. I will not go that route and talk about that you take payments upfront. I understand there are reasons for it. But just the general staff attitude is beyond reproach. It doesn't cost a million to crack a smile and be welcoming. Food is ok, but honestly as a business invest in training your staff some customer service please.

It was strange that we had to pay up front. We were a family with a small child, so it’s not like we were going to run away without paying. Anyway, the food was nice, but there seemed to be a constant tension in the air, like the staff were expecting trouble. Odd!
