Joe's Grill - Oxford

The fact this place is so well thought of reminds me how poorly Oxford is served for reasonably priced, tasty lunch places. Joe’s is neither. Astonished at the raise in prices since my last visit, I opted for the all day breakfast and what a mistake. Sausages obviously cheap and the made me wince; small serving of bacon that tasted like plastic; rock hard black pudding hash browns; rubbery egg. The toast sitting alongside this mess on the plate looked embarrassed to be there. Also worth mentioning the music loud and intrusive. My bill came to over £20, a bonkers price for such a poorly cooked breakfast, assembled from basic ingredients that tasted supermarket bought. Just awful.

This restaurant is brilliant. Mother had the fried brie, and I had the vegetable curry, then we had lemon posset. The food was ample and well-cooked, and the staff were kind. We love coming here, and I now view the restaurant as one of my safe spaces. Well done, and lots of love to you all xxxx :

We both had the sirloin steak everything was cooked to perfection and the service was so lovely. The music was lovely to hear while eating, the peppercorn sauce was the best we had ever tried. We will be coming bk and we have already recommend it to friends

Joe’s never disappoints! We’ve been coming here for some years following our daughter being resident in Oxford Uni. The food is always delicious, the drinks and cocktails are fantastic and the staff are attentive and helpful. We keep meaning to try other eateries in Summertown but always end up at Joe’s highly recommend this cosy restaurant superb!

Just a lovely way to end the day. The food, the staff and the live music were all fabulous. It has a cozy atmosphere with a great staff with an attention to detail. The food and drinks are delicious. I wish I lived in the area so I could make it my go to place!!!
