I was very impressed with this 'old school ' pub in a nice area of Oxford. We sat in the conservatory at the back and were impressed with the heaters, the interesting and friendly patrons, and the affable bar staff. There was ample seating, and the service was quick. The pub 's range of beers was good, including Gull and Old Hooky, plus ciders. Those heaters were very welcome on a cold night. I loved it there, we had a lovely evening, and I hope to go again when I 'm back in the city soon.
I recently stopped by for an early evening meal and was pleasantly surprised to discover a charming, cozy traditional pub serving delicious traditional food. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making for a truly enjoyable experience. This hidden gem in the City of Oxford is worth a visit, and I will definitely be returning with my family.
Oxfords hidden treasure , our favourite pub , always a great atmosphere with a warm and friendly feel at all times credit to the staff and management .
Absolutely shocking taking pictures without consent. We are a group of female students who went there for a drink and asked for food but were informed the kitchen was closed. We were so hungry so we bought a round of drinks, and ordered some pizza from the place next door to enjoy our drinks with food. Then the owner comes over to our table and accuses us of consuming other food on their table, but we asked what the issue was since the kitchen was closed, and we purchased (overpriced) drinks (place was empty, so we weren’t taking the seats from other customers). We then saw the owner taking photos of us without our consent, and when we asked him to delete them he became extremely aggressive and tried to intimidate us. Absolutely awful experience, was quite scary really, please do not go here.
